Thames Water water charges, 2026/27.
Thames Water's published household charges for 2026/27, read straight from its own charges scheme. A metered home pays a £66.87 standing charge a year for water plus 273.46p for every cubic metre used. Work your own bill with the calculator on the charges page.
Not sure, or want to check your own numbers? Just ask.
Ask about any bill, or put your postcode in. Free, nothing to fill in, and nothing you type leaves your browser.
Your postcode and your figures never leave this browser. If I cannot work out what you mean, those words are sent to be classified, and a bill photo goes only if you send one and confirm it. Nothing is stored either way. How that works.

Where this comes from, and where it could be wrong
Every figure is read from Thames Water's own charges scheme for 2026/27, twice, and only published where both readings agreed. Your actual bill depends on how much water you use and whether you have a meter, which is why the calculator on the charges page does the arithmetic.
Worth knowing about Thames Water
Volumetric charges are printed in pence per cubic metre in the scheme, 273.46p for water and 147.21p for wastewater. They are shown here in pounds.
Highway drainage is not billed separately. It sits inside the wastewater fixed charge.
Assessed customers also pay fixed charges of £65.76 for water and £126.69 for wastewater on top of the banded amount above.
Surface water and highway drainage are both already inside the £128.13 wastewater fixed charge. They are not separate lines to add on. The £75.16 in the scheme is the tariff for a property that receives surface water drainage only, and a household that drains no surface water to the sewer claims a £47.70 reduction instead.
Thames does not publish one rate in the pound of rateable value. It sets seven charging areas, water from 135.07p to 247.58p per £ of rateable value and wastewater from 63.07p to 138.10p. We do not show a single figure because there is not one.
