Hafren Dyfrdwy water charges, 2026/27.
Hafren Dyfrdwy's published household charges for 2026/27, read straight from its own charges scheme. A metered home pays a £54.01 standing charge a year for water plus 242.47p for every cubic metre used. Work your own bill with the calculator on the charges page.
Not sure, or want to check your own numbers? Just ask.
Ask about any bill, or put your postcode in. Free, nothing to fill in, and nothing you type leaves your browser.
Your postcode and your figures never leave this browser. If I cannot work out what you mean, those words are sent to be classified, and a bill photo goes only if you send one and confirm it. Nothing is stored either way. How that works.
If you have a meter
A standing charge a year, plus a rate for every cubic metre, which is 1,000 litres.
A year, before you use a drop.
Every 1,000 litres you use.
A year.
For water returned to the sewer.
If you have no meter, a fixed charge
Some homes are charged a flat amount, or on the old rateable value where one survives.
A year, no meter.
A year, no meter.
Where this comes from, and where it could be wrong
Every figure is read from Hafren Dyfrdwy's own charges scheme for 2026/27, twice, and only published where both readings agreed. Your actual bill depends on how much water you use and whether you have a meter, which is why the calculator on the charges page does the arithmetic.
Worth knowing about Hafren Dyfrdwy
Hafren Dyfrdwy is owned by Severn Trent and its scheme is built the same way, in charging zones. Zones A and D are the Powys and Monmouthshire areas, which are the only ones where it does sewerage. Zones B and C, around Wrexham and the Dee valley, are water only.
The rateable value rates are printed in pence in the scheme, 194.65p for water and 350.86p for used and surface water. They are shown here in pounds.
The unmetered sewerage rate of £3.5086 is for used and surface water together. Used water alone is £2.9317, and surface water alone £0.5769.
Surface water drainage is £14.16 a year plus a rate per pound of rateable value, 57.69p in zone A and 51.03p in zone D. There is also a property type scale: £118.33 detached, £78.88 semi detached, £39.45 otherwise.
Highway drainage is a separate £29.99 a year.
A minimum water charge of £263.22 applies in zones A and D.
Zone B has a higher unmetered fixed water charge, £159.18 rather than £142.66. The figures here are for zones A and D, which are the ones with sewerage.
Hafren Dyfrdwy publishes no rates on its ordinary web pages at all, only in this document.
